Participants in an August 23 rally in support of Nikolay Bondarenko adopted a resolution appealing to Vladimir Putin, the authors of the Active Tyumen channel told 7x7.

They complained about the persecution of Communist candidates across the country and demanded equal access to the elections for everyone, including Nikolay Bondarenko.

“Today, against the backdrop of unprecedented external threats, we are once again seeing something that seemed to have been left behind in the ‘wild nineties.’ Back then, Surkov, Karaulov, and Gelman's team carried out operations to discredit popular leaders. Today, a new chapter in the ‘witch hunt’ is beginning, only under different banners,” the resolution reads.

Around 100 people attended the rally, organized by the local branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF). The event took place in a designated protest area on the outskirts of Tyumen, where demonstrations do not require prior approval from the authorities. Police officers photographed participants and their signs but raised no objections.
